Rules and meta

How these duels were run

Everything here comes from the live commentary. It has not been checked against the game files.

Time limit protocol

15 minutesNormal limit for a game. Goblin Sappers, which hit for 400-750 area damage, are banned in standard duels.
Sudden DeathAdmins check bags: at most 3 food and 3 water. Goblin Sappers become legal to force a result.
Sudden Sudden DeathIf that also times out, both players take off all armor and weapons and fight naked with sappers.

Other rules mentioned: stealth players get an uncontested opener while others wait at the starting flag, and fighters must stay inside the Hyjal crater arena. In Jázggz vs Dakkroth the commentary describes game 1 going to Dakkroth after Jázggz stayed out of bounds.

Class and ability changes

  • Warrior: Shield Wall and Retaliation do not share a cooldown, so one duel can use both back to back.
  • Warlock: extra level 30 talent points let builds combine Soul Link with instant-cast Corruption; Voidwalker Sacrifice shields were common.
  • Hunter: traps can be used in combat, and melee weaving mixes swings with auto shots.
  • Shaman: instant Ghost Wolf and a short Storm Strike cooldown were highlighted.
  • Mage: custom spells such as Arcane Wrath and Frost Blast were mentioned.

Gear and engineering that mattered

  • Dakkroth wore a farmed 38 Frost Resistance set against the Frost Mage Venruk and won 2-0.
  • Gnomish Nets can backfire and root the user for 20 to 30 seconds. Free Action Potions answer them.
  • Target Dummies were dropped on top of Freezing Traps to absorb them (Minpojke vs Fvp).
  • Iron Grenades, Goblin Landmines and Cloaking Devices decided several close games.

Critique audio

What an expert reviewer would fix

NotebookLM's Critique format reviewed the sources in a 16-minute audio discussion. Three points came up, with what has been done about each.

Resolve the disagreements

The logs noted counters that disagreed with the official bracket and then said "check the audio". The reviewers want the cause stated, not left to the reader.

Done The three cases now carry a conclusion: an overlay glitch, with the Neepzen vs Gomzy reading marked as an inference.

Use the audio as a heat map

One frame per minute misses the split-second plays the commentators shout about. The example given: Cdewx ending Minpojke's Lower Round 8 series with a triple Windfury proc and a Storm Strike inside about three seconds.

Still to do Pull extra frames around the loudest commentary moments and add them to the visual logs.

Stop at the trophy

The last 20 minutes of Recording 5 show unrelated content, such as a 3v3 arena push and another stream, which dilutes the story. The suggestion is to end with the champion's interview in the crater.

Still to do Trim or move that stretch to an appendix in the logs. This report only mentions it in one line.
